Recognition & partnership with a UN Forum
The Barli Development Institute for Rural Women (BDIRW) was recently honoured by the Global Forum for Agricultural Research (GFAR) (an international forum constituted, guided and funded by FAO-UN) when the Chief Operating Officer of BDIRW, Dr Yogesh D. Jadhav was appointed as member of the 34-member global Steering committee of GFAR (representing India, South Asia and Asia Pacific countries). As a member of the new steering committee of GFAR, Dr Jadhav is regularly invited to participate in their meetings hosted by the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation at their headquarters in Rome. The meetings are regularly held each year, which is attended by renowned professionals, researchers and practitioners from leading developmental partners and institutions across the world - who assemble at the UN-FAO headquarters and discuss & deliberate on the imminent global issues related to research and actions on national and global environment, including forests, food security and agricultural sustainability.
